Scott County Central eighth grade students Blake Probst, Ben Freed, Zach Abernathy and Bryan Freed work on their Project Citizen presentation Thursday afternoon. The health related project is on tobacco and how the settlement was used. The team studied other states’ policies on the tobacco settlement and came up with ways to change or to improve the Missouri policy. The team will be presenting their project to a mock hearing Monday at Jefferson City. Fourteen schools in Missouri will be presenting their project with one being chosen to present their project in Washington, D.C. Not pictured is team member Tanner Almond.
