On Thursday, August 2nd, and Friday, August 3rd, Youth Empowerment in Action held its Teacher Training for the 2007-2008 school year. Ten schools from across Missouri participated in this years training at the University of Missouri-St. Louis to fight back against big tobacco in YEA's Mobilizing Tomorrow's Leaders for a Smoke-Free Missouri program funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health.

YEA TEAM members Mindy Bier, Edie Barnard, Cristle Griwach, and David Shields gave presentations to the teachers about the importance of teaching kids media literacy and the effect the understanding of media has on one's decisions to smoke cigarettes.
